Study of a Window, 2022
150 x 200 cm
Archival inkjet print mounted on Dibond
Study of a Window explores the weaving tradition of Scottish tartan, which was the basis of the fenestration plan in the architecture of Dom Hans van der Laan; as well as being a more textile/woven translation of Van der Laan’s morphothek. This set of blocks, which is a spatial translation of Van der Laan’s ‘Plastic Number, was used as a study model to teach this carefully measured size system to architecture students.
