Marching Walls

In the video work Marching Walls, two figures are carrying out a performance with a sculpture. The sculpture forms a scale model from a street with ‘doorzonwoningen’. In the scale model, the walls have been placed on a ‘rail’. Thereby the performing figures are able to make the walls move. Because of the act of moving the walls, a room can be in one moment an inside space and on a moment later it can be a street. Inside space and the outside world are blending into each other, while the large window of the ‘doorzonwoning’ keeps standing in the same place. The window works as a transition between these spaces and a border between ourselves and the other.
