Archetype (2024) was part of the group exhibition
The sketch, it’s realisation and her lovers, Drawing Centre Diepenheim, Diepenheim (NL), 18.05.24 - 01.09.24
Archetype (2024) is a series of murals, wherein I have painted the ‘wrong RAL colors’ on the walls of the exhibition spaces of Drawing Centre Diepenheim; creating a suggestion of daylight entering the room. The series of murals is centered around three distinct window types from the Drawing Centre Diepenheim building that have vanished due to fire, renovation, and reconstruction over the years. These ghost-like compositions on the wall are derived from the original construction drawings that are full of traces, such as imprints of sunlight, footprints of the builders, notes of the architect.
In the works, the construction drawings and actual building merge into each other. They mark the passing of time and create a suggestion of all the histories that are kept in the shadow of the white cube exhibition space.
The compositions will be overprinted after the exhibition and will become a part of the building’s memory.
